1031 EXCHANGE |
| |
The purpose of an exchange is to defer the payment of taxes on some or all of the capital gain on the property that is exchanged.
The Internal Revenue Service, through Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code, recognizes that an exchange of like-kind property is not a taxable
event. Under Section 1031, there is no taxable gain or loss recognized where property held for investment or business is exchanged solely for another
property of like-kind which is to be held for investment or business purposes.
Old Republic Exchange Facilitator Company is perfectly positioned to help investors, real estate professionals, and escrow officers maximize savings on 1031
exchanges. Our experience in the title industry, our substantial assets and our familiarity with the IRS, Treasury Department and legislative regulations,
enables us to process your transaction smoothly and thoroughly, from start to finish.
